Common Banner and Advertising Sizes

When preparing your creative, it is important to know what the standard banner and advertising size requirements are for the largest platforms. Below is a list of the most common:

 

Facebook:

  • Image: Maximum image size 110 x 80
  • Title: No more than 25 characters including spaces
  • Ad Body: No more than 135 characters including spaces

 

Google Adwords (Text Ads)

  • Image: None
  • Title: No more than 25 characters including spaces
  • Ad Body: No more than 70 characters including spaces
  • Display Url: No more than 35 characters. It must include the extension (such as .com). It does not need to include the prefix (such as http:// or www)

 

Below are the standard internet advertising creative sizes from the IAB:


Universal Ad Package (UAP):

  • Medium Rectangle: 300 x 250
  • Rectangle: 180 x 150
  • Wide Skyscraper: 160 x 600
  • Leaderboard: 728 x 90

 

Standard Ad Units

  • Half Page: 300 x 600
  • Button 2: 120 x 60
  • Micro Bar: 88 x 31

  • Smartphone - 320 x 48
  • XXL Image Banner: 320 x 50 (10KB still image, 15KB animated)
  • XL Image Banner: 300 x 50 (10KB still image, 15KB animated)
  • XL High Image Banner: 300 x 75 (10KB still image, 15KB animated)
  • L Image Banner: 216 x 36 (6KB still image, 9KB animated)
  • L High Image Banner: 216 x 54 (6KB still image, 9KB animated)
  • M Image Banner: 168 x 28 (4KB still image, 6KB animated)
  • M High Image Banner: 168 x 42 (4KB still image, 6KB animated)
  • S Image Banner: 120 x 20 (2KB still image, 3KB animated)
  • S High Image Banner: 120 x 30 (2KB still image, 3KB animated)


Mobile Text Standards:

  • Up to 24 characters for X-Large
  • Up to 18 characters for Large
  • Up to 12 characters for Medium
  • Up to 10 characters for Small
  • Not used for XX-Large
